Wireless Glucose Meter

An advanced blood glucose meter for people with diabetes, this meter measures the amount of sugar in the patient’s blood to help them treat their disease.

This was the first meter to incorporate Bluetooth Low Energy to easily communicate glucose readings to a patient’s phone, where they can be analyzed or sent to a caregiver.

Hoping to treat the additional risks of diabetes, learning that over 90% of people with type-2 diabetes are overweight or obese, we designed the product to encourage a healthy lifestyle through increased activity. We added a 3-axis accelerometer so the meter could count the user’s steps; according to the American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery, even as little as 5% weight loss can help improve diabetes patients’ outcomes.
